Castleton Commodities International LLC Announces the Appointment of J. Michael Evans as an Independent Board Member

Castleton Commodities International LLC (“CCI” or the “Company”) announced the appointment of J. Michael Evans as an independent board member.


Mr. Evans has more than 30 years of experience in banking and financial services, including 20 years in leadership positions at Goldman Sachs. Mr. Evans was vice chairman of the Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. from February 2008 until his retirement in December 2013. He served as the chairman of the Asian operations of Goldman Sachs from 2004 until 2013 and was global head of all Growth Markets for Goldman Sachs from January 2011 to December 2013. Mr. Evans also co-chaired the Business Standards Committee of Goldman Sachs from 2011 to 2013 which was tasked to conduct a comprehensive review of all of the Firm's business standards and practices globally. Mr. Evans joined Goldman Sachs in 1993, became a partner in 1994 and held various leadership positions in London, New York and Asia, including global head of equity capital markets, global co-head of equities and global co-head of the securities business.

Currently, Mr. Evans is a board member of Alibaba, the largest e-commerce company globally and Barrick Gold Corp, the world's largest gold mining company.

Educated at Princeton as an undergraduate and at Oxford for his graduate studies, Mr. Evans also won an Olympic Gold Medal as a member of the Canadian Olympic men's rowing team in 1984 in Los Angeles.
